金牌港为天然深水港，海域水深湾阔无淤，岸滩稳定，深水岸线长，适于建造深水泊位群。金牌港规划共形成码头岸线4775m，规划为东港区和西港区，共布置18个0.3-7万吨级泊位，规划码头年通过能力：散杂货1680万吨+车辆200万辆+1000万人，陆域面积约350万㎡（约5250亩）。

The planned annual capacity of the port includes 16.8 million tons of bulk cargo, 2 million vehicles, and 10 million passengers. The land area of the port is approximately 3.5 million square meters (approximately 5,250 mu).
